Hi Everyone,

I have been asked and asked about running a young horse clinic this year and I have now just looked at a date that is suitable which is the 25th of September 2010.
I know the royal show starts that date, but have no other dates avaliable that it can be done, sorry!

This clinic for will go for 4 hours only (as that is about how much young horses can handle) and owners (ha ha), venue to be decided on (any suggestions? private propertys also....with ample parking for up to 6 to 8 floats....

Ages for horses can range from 3 years to 5 years.....or request on information given about horse owner! Not height or breed specific!

Register your interest with me as soon as possible so we can go ahead with other arrangements.!

Also the same day as SVDA's official show- where I think they are running a Young Horse qualifer?
And the day before Gidgies Associate show...
But you are probably aiming at a different market so that might not matter?;)

Thanks PSO.

I am aiming at a different market! For horses not been off their property or done any in hand showing, inspections in the show ring and onto some ridden work, but really to get them socialised with others around their own age that havent done anything!

Safe Environment also!!!

I will need to check what i have on then but am very interested. I will have been riding my baby a bit by then he'll be just going on 4 and something like this would be good for him. Hopefully it doesn't clash and I can come :)

If anyone from Merredin way decides to go and doesn't mind us hitching a ride with them please let me know!! One problem is that Banjo is huge so needs a big float with a big bay.

You never know unless you ask so I thought I would try....

Thanks Mazntaz, will do that:)
I kind of thought to my self afterwards that the young horse cinic would be in Perth....duh. I have those moments regularly.

Get your bookings in for the morning, we will be covering scarey things like, noises, tarps, poles, in hand work and all those boogy man things young horses need to be exposed to early on in life!

My 3 year old is currently being started(I watched him being ridden today which was very exciting!!)so that will give us a few months to get going!!

I think Abby is beyond this now (although a few months ago I never would have believed that was possible if you'd tried to tell me!), but a thought for getting young horses used to things, maybe see if someone has a small PA system or a stereo you can attach a microphone to? That way you can have someone start talking over the PA just as you ride/walk past the speakers!! Lol, always happens to me!
