SC's Ben is a dual registered Arabian x Andalusian 6yo gelding. He stands at approximately 15.2hh and is a very easy keeper.
Ben would suit a confident, well balanced and experienced rider looking for an all-round horse. He is sensitive and responsive to his rider, he is forward moving with a great mouth. He is cheeky and fun, very people friendly and good to handle, tie up, trim etc. He is a little spooky on the trail as he hasn't done a lot of trail work. He floats OK (likes to stand at the bottom and try it on for a minute first to see what he can get away with) and travels like a dream.
Ben will be suitable for ARC, a little jumping, low level eventing, dressage etc. He has prelim level flatwork and basic laterals well established and was very well started and trained. He has scarring on his off hind from an old injury so would not suit official hacking or in-hand showing. He has been vetted sound for normal riding and anyone interested is welcome to speak to the Vet who has seen him for confirmation of his suitablility.
Ben will not suit nervous or inexperienced riders - he is much too full of himself and cheeky however he has no vices and has not shown any inclination to so much as pig-root under SC's riding assessment program.
Ben is highly intelligent and needs a home where he will have a job to do and regular handling and work to keep his mind active.
He became a Second Chance horse in December 2007 as the injury to his leg was neglected causing him a great deal of pain (hence the scarring) and he was then abandoned.
