What does she plan to do with this poor horse.... leave it to rot in the paddock?

It's sad that you have been put in this situation and you are doing all that you possibly can do. You've gone well above and beyond your responsibilities here. Well done to you, and a big bah humbug to the horse's owner!!!
she got it to breed from, then she wanted to ride it, now it just sits in the paddock im going to get mum to start droppiing hints to her about selling the horse. i dont like the horse at all, but she deserves better than what shes getting, she needs a new owner!

to breed from? Is the horse even good enough to breed? You should tell her that because the horse has a uterus does not mean she should be bred. MLP pass on SCHR link, maybe she can see what happens when inexperienced people get hold of OTTB's.

Also point out that she should possible enrol into one of SCHR Horsecare Workshops. Some horses particularly TB's need feeding extra to keep them in shape.

Good luck with it all - sounds like you are doing the right thing by moving Red away from this paddock and this mare.

All very good points Descuur. I really hope this owner has a good look at the SCHR site and thinks very hard about whether she is offering this horse and fair and meaningful life. Unless she changes some of her thinking, I would suggest the horse would be far better off with a new owner.
