I have something really positive to share.
I have been overthinking Jack. No news there to anyone other than I can see that now.
A family friend who has been a track rider for decades finally got sick of my twin whinging to her about my pony woes...she came out (after asking if I wanted her help of course) and kicked out butts. I was more scared of looking foolish to her than possibly being injured by Jack so I jumped on after discussing my thoughts about discipline and my concerns with her.
Well, I had to get him on the bit....and....OMG....it worked...he rounded up and kept finding the spot where the bit pressure stopped....and with his head down...he couldn't rear or buck beyond tiny pigroots...
Then we had to get me pushing him onwards. Some little, not too hurty spurs and me having a bit more courage with the forward and .... wow...we did forward...
And as for the saddle blanket..it was wet, he was wet, I was wet and the results, one half rear, one baby pigroot, one tired poneh and one winnnaaaaa!!!! ME!!!
