Yes I would ring the breeders first as it will be easier coming from them. Otherwise the stud book will have to chase them up and yes she can still be registered.

The mare will have to be re-instated before the registration for the 2 yr old will go through. Then a mare return will be issued ,then a DNA kit.Foal has to be branded before an ID cert can be done and a microchip if they are foaled after 2002.
We've just done one and it cost over $1000 to get the mare re-instated and the foal registered. If the mare isnt DNA'ed she'll have to be done also.
Ring Dianne at the studbook, she's lovely to deal with.

I have a mare with an invisible stud brand. Try as I have I can't seem to find her brand. Is it impossible for me to find her registration?? Am I doomed or is there light?? Sorry to hijack.

Well I have rung the Studbook, thanks for the contact Samm, Dianne was VERY helpful, and it turns out that the foal can be registered and the mare doesnt need to be re-instated, THANK goodness!

She said normally the mare WOULD have to be, but they would waive it as the mare has only dropped off on the 1st of August this year...what luck. So its all turned out for the best! Thank you very much again, Simbin and Samm!
