Question Lots of Tiny pimples on inside of nostrils

3yr old colt has a 50 cent coin sized area of tiny pimple like things on the inside of his nostrils, moreo n the inside than the outer area. RE - where a plant may have touched him.

Do you all have any Idea what this could be?

All other health signs are normal, apart from a slightly wetter stool (poo - manure)

They have come up all of a sudden - I mean, they weren't their yesterday.

I noticed them at 7 am this morn.

they are approx 2mm in diameter - and 1 mm in height.

I discovered them by assuming they were muck - under the normal dirt/snot they get - and tried to rub them off..lol

Thankyou brains trust!

Indy got similar wee lumps on 1 side of her face. She was well in every other aspect and they weren't sore to touch or anything, so I left them and they went away in a week or so. My guess is she'd lain down and some naughty ants or something had a go at her. Hopefully it's just something like this.

My thoroughbred/stockhorse mare caught warts off the cows next door. It was funny she had these tiny little lumps on her nostrils for months then they just disappeared one day.

Had I done anything to remove them they would have scared. Because I juet left them alone they fell off leaving no scars at all.

I'ts an interesting one - I have tried taking photo's, but you cant see a thing - and I cant fit the camera up his nostril....lol

I've at this stage come to the conclusion that it may have been an irritation from something that they have been eating in the paddock - so will rotate the cows bakc into that one and have to keep the boys on the barer paddock to see if things remedy.

The are that it is in - MAY have had contact with an irritant - but wouldnt have been able to be wiped off whilst grazing.

Here's a loaded question........

Does anyone know what the presentation of Equine Herpes looks like?

If they are warts. What we do with the baby horse's when they get warts is put lipstick on them everyday and in 3weeks they will drop off because when they get no air they will die.

All horse's have the virus in their system that cause's warts and they will appear due to stress or not getting feed correctly.

Yeah - things are changing. Ive got a Vet looking into it....The other horse in his paddock has had a reaction to something as well - Goodness knows what. His nostrils are slightly hard and swollen and all this hair folicles are swollen as well. He's rubbed out hair in the last few hours - but its a quickly changing situation, so Im thinking that it may have been a reaction.....We'll see what the Good Doctor has to say ! lol

Gawd..the horses are keeping me on my toes this weekend/week!

BAAA......sorry - it wasnt the seaweed

I beleive that It was the new growth of clover that we have, this can cause photsensitivity and ulcer like sores on the nose and muzzle. (even thought the sores werent on the muzzle) After removal from the paddock - the sores healed up completely 3 days later.

Cheers All!
