yes it is a bacterial toxicity that has caused all the damage, from either a contaminated bottle of antibiotics or from the needle site, which has poisoned his system, all along his neck.chest and under his belly the skin is now rock hard and will eventually come away, so he has a long road ahead of him and a lengthy stay at Murdoch

some kind person has sent him a get well card to the Murdoch horse center, which he loved it is hanging on his door with his guradian angel, wouldnt it be cool if all the stockies sent him one from his stockie friends

yes he has definately improved from when you saw him mineees, and he doesnt have his drip anymore

Thanks everyone, those healing vibes are going to do wonders, and yes even all the vets at Murdoch have not seen anything like this before and are not even sure how they are going to manage the wound when his skin comes away. by the way the bacteria was a human one called gram positve bacilli commonly found in food poisoning in humans and hasnt been heard of in horses before

The only thing I've seen similar is a white tail spider bite.
White tails also inject a rare bacteria when they bite and victims can get necrotising of tissue.

Good luck
