wow, that injury is INSANE! I hope he will be ok and will be able to race for you guys again. fingers crossed for as wonderful a recovery as Paris has had and thanks for sharing with us! These sort of this are awful when they happen but I spose at least they can be informative and educational enough to the rest of us =)
Big hugs and hope all goes well for you guys!

Hi Shio!
Horses do stupid things, don't they? Why are we into horses?? !!! Lol!
Look, despite the fact that the wound looks not very attractive , in 4-6 weeks it will be completely healed with hardly any scarring. I happened to know of a colt who had done a serious doozy on its head . His face on one side was hanging off his nose from one ear down, jaw fracture, eye nerve damage, you name it!
But in 6 months he was shown in an open competition and was winning everything! To be honest, I was totally amazed how it all healed up, coz if you didn't know he's done it, you would've never guessed.
Good luck! Cheers, Lena

Hi Shio.........bloody horses !! I am sure he will heal fine. I had a horse get struck in hte head & have a 2" square piece of bone showing. Never even scarred...........anyway I am sure everyone would probably like to see the progression photos like I have done with Paris.
I get loads of PM's about it so I know people appreciate having the opportunity to see how these types of wounds heal .......it also helps keep them calm should something ever happen with their horses.
WHile I have no doubt your horse will be fine, I am sure, like Paris it will look worse before it looks better..........I hope it goes well for you
