Oh my goodness ... That was one horrific injury. You have done a great job
with your treatment.

Always gives me goosebumps and tears in these threads!

I have been away on business for the past week & away from stockies ...which is why I haven't responded.

Paris is fine .... the wound is all healed now, but there is a small area without hair & I expect it will stay that way. She is back in traiing & going really well.

Paris has a really sweet kind nature & is not fussed by anything .....which probably is some of the reason she healed so well, she just took it all in her stride.

She is jumping upto a metre at home & working well on the flat. I even think Skito has her flying changes established now .... but dont quote me on that one lol.

I will add that she was never lame, but we did have a few issues with forward when we brought her back into work .... I thought mabe the scarring pulled a bit, but she has been worked through that & all is good.

I have an exceptional vet who was a great support to me with paris & others .... I feel very privlidged & lucky to know a person of his calibre & I am sure ....so is Paris

Everything I did was under his instruction & I stuck to that dispite advice to the contrary. I am very happy with the result.

CD .... Rahni is a very special horse & you will do great things with him. I have known him for years, so i know what he is capable of when he has built his muscle back. I also know just how stunning he looks when in top condition. Having had a couple of years on no work means it willt ake a while for you to get him back there ..... but trust me on this one.... he is one awesome horse & lots prettier than Paris LOL

That's truly horrific.
Hopefully the muscle damage will repair with enough elasticity to allow reasonable movement.
I have found Oticlens is a really good wound spray that is inexpensive enough to use liberally for long periods.

LOL welcome Tanglefoot & thanks for the advice I do have Oticlens in my first aid cabinet .....however as you kow realise Paris is all better.

In fact she left for her new home on Tuesday to be an eventer I have no doubt James ....her new owner will spoil & love her like we did & while it was really sad to see her go I will look forward to see her out & about with James.

She got to travel in a big pink float LOL ...... Hopefully James will not get too much flack about having a pink float & a horse called Paris LOL ( I think he has 4 daughters that ride .....hence the pink float LOl)

Holy hell indeed! I would have had a coronary if I opened the float to that (and I would definitely need a box or two of Kleenex for myself). You have done a fine job and the injury is much improved. I too have had two serious emergency injuries of late -- one a leg and one a sliced up face requiring stitches. But mine pale in comparison to yours!
