Default My horses ate bird seed today.....

I have been in Melbourne for work, and for craker night two of my girls had a sleepover at a friends house to avoid the carnage.

They broke out of their yard, and ate about 4kg's of bird seed....no idea what time, what brand although it was a budgie mix...., whether it was one horse or both?

They seem fine, have been home for a couple of hours now, have had a couple of poo's. I let them into the paddock to graze to 'move things through' rather than in their yards and only fed them some chaff for tea.

They should be okay....right?

when we where in Draught.."bird seed" was one of the alternative feeds..{is it Mullet seed that is mostly in Budgie mix ?} anyway we had to boil and/ or soak it before we feed it..as its a very hard seed. You'll probs fine that most of the seed will just go straight throu your horses..fingers crossed.

Cheers

Guy across the road from use puts seed into his horse feed so when they doopt it would seed the paddock and came in its own firtilizer pack. and it worked too. so put horse doop on all the bare spots
