Default Meadow Hay Suppliers?

Does anyone know of a good Meadow Hay supplier in the Avon area? I'm thinking of buying a couple of hundred bales as my horses are getting too fat on oaten hay (and I'm fed up with soaking it twice a day!).

Isn't it wonderful having lovely pastures and loads of feed and having to keep your horses away from it all??? *sigh*

I have never been able to locate locally grown meadow hay in the Avon Valley. Its not really the right district for growing it. Too dry!

Harvey, Pinjarra, Oakford etc are the usual places to buy it from, but the freight is a killer!

I have the same problem with fatties on oaten as you do!! lol

There are some places in Gidgegannup that you can get good meadow hay from - I just don't know exactly where now as we grew our own crop last year!

Keep your eye out in the Quokka and Saturday West

Hmmm.. okay, nothing local (not that Gidge isn't local mirawee!) I'll keep my eye on the paper I guess.

Does anyone from Pinjarra way know of anyone there that grows meadow hay?

Im in barragup and get my hay from stanbee stockfeeds- this is the best quality meadow hay ive ever seen and my boys LOVE it, very compact biscuits and it just fluffs right up, maybe give them a call and they can put you onto the farmer??

Thanks guys - that gives me quite a few options. Think I'll start cleaning some hay out of the shed and find out if I can borrow a truck.
