Default Celery seeds - a well kept miracle!

Have an 18 year old stockhorse (have owned him for 10 years) who has been showing signs of lameness/stiffness in the near front fetlock - on and off. Celery seeds (1 heaped tablespoon in his feed daily was recommended) - he is a big boy! I was told it would take 2 weeks to see a change. 2 weeks past and there was a change ie much more free moving. 4 weeks past and either someone has been down to the stables and swapped my horse for an identical one - or he has reinvented himself and is now forward moving, confident, no stiffness whatsoever and I have my 8 year old back!! I think I might get on this stuff myself!!

Yes I would have thought so too - but it has been amazing the number of horsey people I have come across who have never heard of celery seeds for arthritis/stiffness etc

I give it to my horses too even my 3yo mini. It lubricates the joints. The dosage is 20 grams a day. I measured out 20 grams on my dads gold scales and then found a scoop that held the exact amount. I love the stuff.

Other well kept secrets for curing arthritis: correct hoof trimming, exercise, acupuncture, spirit essences, hot and cold therapy, devil's claw, homeopathy, shiatsu, cidar vinegar, flax seed oil, spiritual healing, and probably others that I don't know about!

Someone told me the celery seeds make their urine smell really strong. Anyone found this? Would be interested to know.
Have been thinking of using them but don't really want a smelly stable.

Can't say I have noticed this problem - try celery seeds - there is no turning back once you have! What a difference!

I've never tried Spirit Essences or healing but good on you SomeoneElse; All the others you listed I have had great results from, as well as White Willow Bark, Laser Therapy, Photo-acupuncture, magnetic therapy & Joint Supplements.

Don't worry about Celery making the urine smell, it is a diuretic so you just need to make sure your horse is getting an adequate intake of water
