Default Getting semen into WA?

My mare is booked to a NSW stallion this season....

According to the WA Ag dept, semen cant be imported from properties in Restricted areas (RA), Dangerous contact premises (DCP), or suspect premises(SP)....BUT I just read that the stud says it has permission from AgNSW to ship out semen??

They are in a purple zone...is that an RA??? (I know...shoulda taken more notice of the zone changes! )

Initially, they said dec-feb...but have now heard that EI will be a problem till at least june 2008??

And at the EI info sessions, (I heard...)they said semen was allowed from premises that have shown no symptoms for 14 days...but the website still says the same thing?

hmmm....

Will be contacting ag dept on monday...but does anyone have any ideas in the meantime???

The website actually says no symptoms for 21 days... but then also says not from a RA (and I would assume that the purple zone is an RA!)

Let me know what they say please I have 3 booked to NSW stallions!

Clarification from the Ag dept...

No reproductive material to be imported into WA from RA's (amber, red or purple zones), or any IP, SP or DCP, outside the RA's

Reproductive material is allowed to be imported from the green zones, with a declaration...

There is no timeframe for this changing....

damn....

Are you wanting to breed a dressage horse? If you are, I know someone who has an imported german warmblood stalliion standing this season, and she has reduced his service fee due to the Ei as she is booking alot of mares

He is stunning, and a fabulous pedigree! If you want to know who he is or want the stud's number just pm me and I will give all

I wish!

Not until the stud is in a green zone...
And with the introduction of the TB industry's purple zone...wont be happening anytime soon...
Might just sell my service and find a local boy!

Bugger PSO Who's the stallion?

Are 'Normal' horses getting across from NSW to Vic yet? (Appart from racehorses I mean!).

Does anyone have any idea how long it'll be before they are if not?

I'm Looking for a new dressage pony and of course there's a couple of nice ones in NSW!
