Can someone please clarify the insurance stance on EI lockdowns? From my understanding we are signing the Bio-security forms to absolve the clubs from any responsibility in the case of a lockdown. Is this not correct??? If it is, then why are so many shows being cancelled and if it is not, then what are the forms for?? I know one is to track the horses that have been to shows, what is the other? I am really confused

The WA form we all sign is basically saying we have taken all possible precautions that is all. It also gives organizers the details of everyhorse there and where to find them if a horse at the show gets EI a few days later. So that weeks aren't spent tracking all the horses down.

As for clubs (insurance companies) some decide to take the risk and some don't. From the welsh show we were allowed to proceed as there ruling is Must not border a state with EI. Some have this rule and others like the APSB have a blanket ban. Its not always up to the organisers.
