Default Breeding duns!

We have a cremello stallion and hes a one of a kind for temp and conformtion After looking for so long and at last finding the right one for us and where we planned to go with our stud.
I am interested in breeding a dun but was wondering where there was a dun QH stallion standing if at all??
We have 4 foals for this season.A dunskin will be lovely if we get it LOL
I have 2 dun QH mares.Ones a 14.3hh chunky QH and the other 15.1hh more finer type.Thanks.

Robbie Neuman in Muchea has a lovely dun qh stallion, he used to stand at stud ( from what I can remember ), would be best to give him a call though

Assuming only one of her parents was grey, about half her foals will grey out. So yes you could produce a dun that didn't grey but no way of knowing until it was born!

Do you mean 'dun' as in a true genetic dun or 'dun' as in the way the Welshies (and one or two other breed societies) use the term to refer to buckskins ?

There are also horses with false characteristics or counter shading which could pass for duns except for some obvious giveaways (like no dun in the pedigree - Dollar has an Arab / RP cross filly with some of the best examples of false dun characteristics that I've ever seen, right down to the leg barring) so she would need to be a true genetic dun in order to produce one herself.

Dun, did you specifically want QH rego? If not, there is also the solid appy grulla standing in Middle Swan.

Actually on that note, I've seen quite a few greys in my time that have had false dun facter/counter shading as they are greying. They weren't duns at all, just looked a bit like it as they started to go grey.

Yes Tintara shes a Welsh A, and I thought at the time I saw her rego thats strange, I would have thought more Buckskin ?? But I dont know much about "Coloured" horses.

Her colt foal born last season was bucky-coloured but Grey'd out quickly, so was really hard to tell.{ by a Grey Stallion }

could she produce..a coloured foal put to a solid Sire...should have been my question... and I think the answer was 50% chance ? lol

Cheers
