Hey guys,
I am reading this thread with alot of interest, it sounds amazing but there are a few things that don't mke sense to me and I didn't know if anyone else knew the answers.

1st - if it detects pregnancy by determining a change in density in the uterus would you get a false positive if she had a thickened uterus from an infection or false pregnancy?

2nd - how could it possibly detect twins if it is only recording a uterine thickening and not the actual fluid filled embryos inside the uterus?

3rd - if it is recording uterine thickness how could it detect cysts as they will not change uterine tone?

Thumbs up

Therio
we know the difference in spike pattern in answer to questions 1 and 3.
I can't answer your second question, because firstly there is no mention about it in the manual, secondly we have never seen the pattern described by Bh (Phil Regas the rep) in 8 years of using the machine.
But I will be contacting Animark tomorrow and will try to locate Phil Regas, because I am very intrigued if it is true or not(detection of twinning).
It would be so handy for us if it were true.
By the way Bh, is the scale of your uncle's machine in inches?

Perhaps you have not seen it, as you have not had a case of twins?

As your machine is 8 years old, I imagine there have been some advancements since then, and you should note that owners manual for the pregscan machine which is available for download from Animark's website is in Inches, but it is not difficult to convert inches to cm's, even if you suck at modern technology!

Why would I need to download owners manual from the website?
Mine came with the machine! Lol! And it is in CM!
Do you have any personal experience with Animark scanner yourself?
If you do then please share it with us, if you don't then why are you in this thread giving answers and recommendations?

First of all, I never said you would need to download the manual,I simply stated that the downloadable version for the pregscan is in Inches,(not unusual for an American product) and it was you that made a point of that, which I suggest you take up with the manufacturers not me! the downloadable pregtest and pregscan manuals are different!
I would suggest you deal directly with the company who manufactures the product and not whoever sold it to you on EBAY!

Secondly,as to your comment regarding my experience I have already stated as such, and I have given you and everyone else reading this thread the benefit of the advice passed on to me from an ANIMARK REP, which anyone reading is entitled to check for themselves!

I find your question asking why I am in this thread quite rude especially considering the majority of people who have commented are not familiar with the device at all and are asking for opinions/advice?
I am simply sharing mine yet you see a problem with that??

Actually, the machine of 8 years ago is identical to the one still selling....obviously no new "advances".
The reason that the Pregscan and Pregtest are different is because one is used for large animals and the other is used for small animals *from the website*

How current is the reply from Mr Regas?

How much does it cost to buy? Does anyone know if this is the only model brand on the market?

Dead right, EVP. The machine hasn't been modified, it is still the same.
The larger machine is for cows and mares. The smaller ones - for alpacas, etc... Still waiting for the responce from Animark re twinning.

Lolly
When we bought ours there was nothing similar on the market that we knew of. By memory we paid around $2K for it then. We recon it was the best $2K ever spent, it's certainly made our life much easier.

I realise that EVP, but one is in Inches, and one is in CM's, that was my point.
I am still not sure what the issue is regarding the information from the rep being in inches, after all it is an American Company, and as I said, one manual is in Inches, one in CM's.
Why that is I dont know, I simply relayed info that may have been helpful and was cross examined over it.
