here is the link to the Coffin Bay Ponies Coffin Bay Pony Preservation Society
My parents bought Bella when I was 3. She came over from near the Snowies in a big truck with lots of ponies, they were bought to be broken in and used by a riding school near Adelaide. There was a fire through the Adelaide property while the ponies were in transit. So they had to sell the ponies. She was my first pony and I rode her until I was 15, she died at Tcharkulda, Minnipa This is a photo of about 12 months after we got her, she was 3 in this photo and I was 4, my first show, (cleve show), she was always the perfect kids pony.

and with my parents in harness at yallunda Flat show, in the late 70's

and Cummins Show, also late '70's

Thanks for putting your photo's and lovely stories up. What lovely lovely horses.
I'll ask Dreamer to come and tell you who the Black Stallion is. Stay tuned.

The black stallion is "Ace of Spades" i.e. as black as !
He came from Newhaven Station, N.T., when all the horses went from there.

This little chap is believed to be a Waler X orphan, possibly given away via the Quokka several months ago. Now being rehabilitated after illness and neglect by Save Equus Inc.
Attachment 3057
Anyone know where he might have come from? Contact save_equus@space.net.au please.
Also, today is the day we honour our fallen men, and the horses, mostly Walers who were also sacrificed. Lest we forget.

only one of all the horses (mainly walers) taken over seas during WW1 was brought back. It was called Sandy and belonged to MG Bridge I believe.

Absolutly Saiorse, Lest we forget, those men and horses that sacrificed their lives so that our world would be a better place.
121,324 brave Walers were sent from Australia to participate in the WW1 effort. Only 1 came home.

Shishka, undergoing rehabilitation by Second Chance after severe neglect leading to a bad case of founder. Information has come to light that she is very likely off a well known station up North as this station is known to have produced several with her striking colour, and simular conformation/height.
