Possibly. How small is the round yard? The smaller the yard the harder it is for a horse (specially larger horses) to work in there... if you lunge her on a larger circle (easier, more comfortable) in the arena than she would get in the round yard it may be discomfort. When on a single lunge-line the horse's body twists with the head and tail out but free-lunging they don't really do that.

Otherwise it may be an association... she's learned to associate the round yard with misbehaving for some reason with somebody, ie learned to get away with it.

I am not sure I can offer solutions because I can't actually see her doing it so can't pick up any signals off her.
