Some horses require a lot longer course of treatment to solve the ulcers and will be prone to recurrence. Your boy may just need longer than the usual course.
I have also seen cases that can never completely come off the ulcerguard because they recurr. Speak to your vet and see if he has any other opinions on the matter.
