A summary for those who missed it:
The story so far...Says 3 deaths out of 6 known human cases since 1994. But at least 30 horses.
On latest cases: A passing mention of the "lost horses" and discounting of these as Hendra.
DPI response: We didn't expect these symptoms - last time was different. Need to raise awareness of symptoms and possibility of a greater range of signs.
Still believe Hendra transmitted via bat to horse, then horse to human.(Dr Bev Middleton CSIRO)
Treatment is guesswork - presently using an antiviral (cause it's a virus...)(Dr Jo Mc Cormack).
Angry horse owner: If so hard to catch why did it run rampant through vet clinic? Blames vet & DPI. Says expected a vet clinic to be clean and sterile.
Message: Keep horses away from bats...(cut to freaky squealing bat hangout showing bats are everywhere). Says Hendra within all Aust bat colonies.
DPI: Will be reviewing security, safety standards.
Talk of Qld govt launching an independent review of the outbreak.
Very short. Not much new. Was followed by a segment on the advent of "churnalism" and decline of investigative journalism. SomeoneElse - they must have been listening to you!
