Knightwood Equine Training and Education Centre is owned by Ron and Dinah Fleming whose combined skills provide an all-inclusive equine education service for the horse, rider and handler. RON’S expertise in overcoming riding and handling issues in the young and/or complex horse enables the rider to unlock the learning potential and build new partnerships with their horse. Ron’s unique ability to gain a horse’ trust, confidence and attentiveness is based on the innate principles of equine herd behaviour. Ron has over
30 years experience in equine education, training and breeding in
both thoroughbred racing and equestrian industries. As a race
horse trainer Ron notched up many metropolitan wins before specialising
in equine education as the principal lecturer in Equine Studies,
at Bentley Technical and Further Education (TAFE) in Western Australia.
DINAH is an experienced and highly qualified horse rider, who offers coaching to those who share in the passion and seek excellence to achieve both personal training and competition goals. Throughout her career in a variety of disciplines and competitions Dinah’s highest accolade to date has been to represent Australia and Western Australia in Three Day Eventing and Showjumping - winning team gold medals on each occasion in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Australia. As an NCAS (EFA)
Level 2 General Coach (accredited 1982), a qualified high school
teacher and achieving the BHSAI certificate Dinah offers private
and group tuition in dressage and jumping. Dinah is also a Pony
Club coach and visiting coach to other clubs.
Knightwood Equine Training and Education Centre is located in the popular wine growing region of the Swan Valley approximately 40 minutes from Perth. Irrigated pasture and an abundance of eucalyptus shade provide an attractive, cool and tranquil horse training environment. Pasture management and horse rotation is a key feature in maintaining this quality venue. Knightwood facilities
include an 800metre track, 30mx70m floodlit schooling arena, a pine
post and rail round yard, brick stable barn and five acres of irrigated
pasture within the sixteen acre property. |
