The next York Horsemans hack day is combined with the Avon Valley PC so there will be official and unofficial hacking (usually including walk/trot classes), dressage, showjumping and novelties :)*

Hopefully the programme will be available soon ;) http://www.york.equestrian.org.au/

So mark it in your diaries now! It is held in Northam and there is plenty of room to warm up and yards are available. Although horses do need to put up with bunting and the occasional train.

The Bunting and Trains cause less problems than I would have thought oddly enough.

Had hoped to come but is my daughters bday and she is holding me to ransom lolol

Agreed NG, I haven't had any problems with my horses with the bunting and trains :) (Watch now, Folly will take exception ROFL)

I can definitely put up with them and be able to have room to warm up!

I found the same, our green newcomer pony handled it all with out any stress, quite amazing really. We normally get one very noisy train each show where the brakes are squealing.

Diva was MUCH better with the trains when I was riding than when she was in the yard!

So will this event be run under PC rules? I'm thinking gear-check wise, specifically treeless saddles lol

Sarina that's because if she thought the train was coming to get her she had you to throw in the way of it to save herself from it.... in the yard it was just her on her own ... hehe. Nah in all seriousness the horses and ponies have been very good with the trains, and we've even had a couple of shows without a squeaky train. Either way its good desensitising for Ag shows and the royal etc.

It's a bugger that these shows are always on the same dates as the Perth shows. But with the dressage on as well I'm temped to head up the hill for this one!
