Jadebrook I'm sure the Lead rein classes are for 5-8 years (EA Rules) but will double check.

When will the programme be available??

Razzie, see above ;) We have our first committee meeting for the year on the 21st and that is one of the main topics for discussion :) The programme should be available as soon after that as the secretary can upload it to the website :D There will be a full programme for official hacks and hunters as well as Walk/Trot and Walk/Trot/Canter classes in the encouragement/novice/unofficial/whatever-we-decide-at-the-meeting-to-call-it ring *#)

Entries are on the day and there is lots of room available to work young and inexperienced horses as well as have good size rings. Both judges are also lovely to show under **)

This sounds like a great day to work towards as our first outing for 2012! **)

Will there be unoffical hunter classes or just official?
    Thanks :)

There is usually hunter in both rings - but not the Walk/Trot since they can't gallop LOL

are york happy with adults on ponies for SHC qualification?? :)

Do SHC allow adults on ponies? York runs to the rules of the societies ;) So we allow adults on large ponies but you can only use them for qualification if SHC allows it LOL. That is my understanding anyway and I am not up with SHC rules.

Still have fingers crossed Northam shows are fantstic, she is only going UNOFFICIAL leading rein if aloud as i know EWA rules are 5 and SHC is 3 but being unofficial hoping she can she is so keen , also have a newcomer galloway. If you can let me know Asap would be appreciated tying to organise shows. Thanks :)

I always wonder why the unofficial classes have an age limit for lead-rein. I mean it's unofficial, who really cares as long as everyone has fun?? Right?

My daughter will be 8 this year but still has to compete in lead-rein as she's not confident enough off-lead. When it says 5 -8 years, that includes 8 yo does it not?

We will be only entering unofficial events where the age limit is generous or removed for lead-rein. It would be nice if events had a enclosed area for the little riders who wish to try to ride unescorted so their ponies don't disappear back to the floats with them.

Lower age limit would be due to insurance as far as I am aware - will look into it more for unofficial. I will take the rest of your comments onboard for discussion at the meeting :) Anything else? :D
