Has anyone had their horses' back (poll to dock) xrayed, with difinative results?

I would like one of ours to have an xray, but am cautious as to wether or not there is an xray machine strong enough to show clear results.

I would assume Larkhill or Murdoch to have the strongest machine here?

Horses are massive animals and such technology has a real hard time penetrating thru to the areas where diagnosis can help. Dep soft tissue or orthapedic x-ray diagnosis is very expensive and mostly nonconclusive. Sorry.:))

    Thanks Caroline.

I can afford the xrays, just wondering if anyone has had it done in WA (that views this forum), so I can assertain if there is a vet with a strong enough machine here.

The xrays are performed successfully by a vet in Vic (and SA, I'm told), but that is no help to me right now lol

I will be calling the two vets mentioned tomorrow, and see what they say.........

I would be interested too. I was told years ago by a vet that you cannot get through to the hip area. As in, x-raying their pelvis, because it's not powerful enough.
I'm not sure about the whole back.
If you find out, can you please PM me?
