    Hi Gretchen,

Sorry to hear of this too,

Dont give up - heaps you can do with Party, Im sure your many friends on stockies would show him in halter and ridden for you, and he would look lovely in harness as mentioned. If you need a hand with feeding or anything - just ask ....

All the best wishes :) Marissa

That's terrible news, I can totally understand your devastation.

I have a friend with a dodgy back who was told she would never ride again, but she has been back in the saddle for a few years now. Can't ride for any longer than 2 hours absolute max at a time, nor do anything hard core, but she is just appreciative that she is in the saddle at all.

I really hope this happens for you as well. Thinking of you.

Terrible news and i definitely understand where you are coming from.

Im a few months into my enforced break from riding, the words fusion have been throw around but considering my age im trying to leave that as an absolute last resort as after that i wouldnt come back to riding ever.
There are many other things you can still do with your horse even if your not riding, he doesnt know he is suppose to be ridden anyway. But you could always just prep him for shows and have other people lead him if you wanted to do inhand etc.

    Good luck with it all!

So sorry to hear your situation.

I know it's not the same as riding but is harness breaking Party an option?

I am not sure what he would be like under harness but for some reason I think I would be safer on his back*#) He see's Arab Fairies my boy, they jump out at him all the time, nasty little suckers scare the crap out of him! *#)

Doctor sent me straight for more tests this afternoon as now they are querying nerve damage as well so I am off to a Neurosurgeon tomorrow afternoon :(

    Life just sux#(

After my recent experiences with Drs and hospitals all I can say is get second and third opinions, ask millions of questions and don't let them just tell you how its going to be!

    Good luck.

    What a frustrating Day :( #(

After waiting for two hours to see the specialist I spent all of 10 minutes with him!
Cause he said Yes there is a nerve trapped at L4 level and the level above BUT
he cannot do anything cause I also need to see an Orthopaedic Surgeon!

Well thats fine so he gave me the numbers of the ONLY 4 Spinal Surgeons in WA that are qualified to fix my problems
The earliest appointment I can get is the 2nd of OCTOBER the others I rang said November & January !!!!!#( #(

I HAVE Private Health Insurance BUT the only way to be seen by one of these guys earlier is to end up in Hospital through an ER !

I rang my GP and he said 'Gee thought you'd have to wait a few weeks' but we are talking Months. He then said just pop in each week and I will give you all the pain medication I can in the mean time.
Excuse my language but F*&&$#@ hell what is wrong with our health system.

I am now in the process of trying to get in touch with my old Ortho Surgeon in Melbourne and I will fly over there and get his opinion and hopefully get him to do whatever he has to!
And I thought things couldn't get any worse LOL

    Holy crap! thats insane.
I suggest that until you get in touch with your old Ortho Surgeon keep hounding the one you have an appointment with in October, and you maybe lucky and they have a cancellation.
