Does anyone use them? I have just come across a set (new! forgot all about them!) in my feed shed earlier, I love those little discoveries :D

I have never used them, I can't remember why.

My brushing boots are looking a little worse for wear. I am planning on getting some new smb's (hehe) soon, but perhaps polo bandages will do until I get new boots.

So just wondering, before I take the plunge, can they harm legs? I don't use elasticated bandages for fear of bandage bows, I bandage ok (vet nurse) but don't trust myself to go as far as an elastic bandage.

You guys know that I am paranoid, but indulge me anyway ;)

Hehe I'll joing the paranoid club @) I am looking to get jumping boots (have been for a month lol!) But dont wanna get the wrong kind .. agh.

Bandages. Yes they can cause damage. My sis bought some (which I bought of her lol).. I haven't used them yet as I dont have a proper arena and they'll be full of bitties from the grass. But the ones I have have the polar fleece AND the elastic in one. Saves getting the pads to go underneith.

If you use the elastic (they are stretchie) by themself you can cause damage .. muscle damage from pressure, being uneven. So use a pad underneith (always) .. they are like thin foam but provide enough to not cause muscle damage :)

Also, I wouldn't use them for jumping (IMHO) incase they came undone .. I'm gonna use mine for dressage and flatwork :)

Correct me if I am wrong .. but yeah :D

I am only doing flatwork atm (although only on one horse ... the 'real' horse is hurt atm ..) my polos are polar fleece only, no elastic, and you don't need any pads underneath. Yep, bandages can cause bandage bows, which is what freaks me out (even though I bandage fine, I still get antsy about it).

I never use elastic bandages if I can help it, I am too paranoid lol!! :)*

I realise the damage they can potentially cause, I don't think I worded my original post that well, needed another coffee lol, I meant has anyone had any repercussions from using fleece polo bandages, without any elastic?

I've never had any probs, except that my ponies tend to bash thru them in about an hour...so only use them for lessons/clinics....
Have the industrial strength brushing boots for every day use! (heaps more economical...:))

I used polo bandages for my warmbloods for dressage training and lessons. :)
Had no probs at all, looks good and really smart when used on all four legs.
But gee, all that washing, had them in white.LOL :D

Hope your colour bandages are a nice red.;) :D :p

Thanks for that guys!! :)* Lol I have black ones, I wanted white, but the red dirt put me off! It's funny though, because my horses both have black legs, it looks from a distance like their legs have become very fat! :D
