    Hi Guys :)*

Am just asking for a friend who frequents this forum but isnt a member.
Does anyone know of any vets in Perth who have experience with this? and any experiences negative or positive you have had.

I looked into this a few years ago. Some of the vets had never heard of it. Others had a didn't know much about this. My vet researched it, but found it all a bit hard.

Your best bet would be to try murdoch I would think.

Glass balls (marbles) can be used but need to be inserted by an experienced equine repro vet. The idea is to create an environment where the uterus isn't receptive to pregnancy (either it thinks it already IS pregnant or the room isn't ready to accept a bub) either way get some expert advise from a good facility.

What would the reason for doing this procedure be? Would it prevent a mare from cycling normally? I am genuinely interested in the reasoning behind doing it & don't want to sound critical!

Yes, it stops the mare from cycling. I looked into for my mare that was constantly spring heating. I don't like having to give them regumate myself. This was before the injection was available, so I looked into alternatives.

As EVP said makes the mare think she is in foal.

Thanks KP - thought that may be the reason behind it - sounds a bit tricky to actually do though.
