I have something really positive to share.

I have been overthinking Jack. No news there to anyone other than I can see that now.

A family friend who has been a track rider for decades finally got sick of my twin whinging to her about my pony woes...she came out (after asking if I wanted her help of course) and kicked out butts. I was more scared of looking foolish to her than possibly being injured by Jack so I jumped on after discussing my thoughts about discipline and my concerns with her.

Well, I had to get him on the bit....and....OMG....it worked...he rounded up and kept finding the spot where the bit pressure stopped....and with his head down...he couldn't rear or buck beyond tiny pigroots...

Then we had to get me pushing him onwards. Some little, not too hurty spurs and me having a bit more courage with the forward and .... wow...we did forward...

And as for the saddle blanket..it was wet, he was wet, I was wet and the results, one half rear, one baby pigroot, one tired poneh and one winnnaaaaa!!!! ME!!! :)* *#) **)

LOL Its surprising how sometimes we need someone to kick our backsides.

Good to hear you had a break through. Might be an idea to get your friend to give you some lessons for a while, so you dont slip back. Sometimes we need a few slaps around the head to get the message LOL.

*chuckles* QSS, how right you are! She will be over this arvo hopefully to give me a lunging lesson, and there will be ongoing lessons for riding until i totally get it. And then maybe more ;-).

And my twinny is happy to spot on the ground for me too.
  4. How good are these breakthroughs hey!! Sounds like you're both going great guns. Very exciting.
