I've just been getting afew on line quotes for horse insurance and I've so far obtained 3 quotes all with varying costs. I've been looking at just the basic cover and for the same horse to be insured for the same useage and same value there is a $120 difference between the cheapest and most expensive!!!??? Doesn't seem to make sense when they all offer the same thing?? Has anyone else found this?

Perhaps some insurers are less as they specialise in equine cover, other insurers that cover all animals may be more expensive due to resources.

I know with general insurers, they have no chance of matching specialised insurers, for eg. Elders Vs RAC for vehicle cover.

    did you read the policy?
"N.B. The amount payable is limited to the applicable amount below or the same as the BASIC COVER above, whichever is the lesser.
$1,000 or $2,000 a year per Horse as specified"

This is MUCH different to Petplan...
    Section..................................Maximum each Year....Excess
    Vet’s Fees Section 3 (normal).....$10,000...................$ 200

Personally i could find $2k but not $10k...
