I am enquiring if hessian or jute rugs would be suitable as an under rug during winter to keep your winter rugs clean.
I have read that they keep the horse's coat smooth and shiney and am worried about it removing too much of Elvis's coat.
I did not rug Elvis over last winter and he grows a thick coat when not rugged and it takes a while for it to fall out as it is cool at night up here. I ended up removing the insect shield from his summer rug trying to get the hair out of it.
Hope there is still someone here to assist.
