Made the LOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG trip south with Missy (Tintaras Artemis) who has never travelled that far in her life before (yep, I can whinge with the best of you about having to travel long distances to shows!!) but she took it all like a trooper and never moved a muscle the entire trip (both ways).

She didn't like the wind much (methinks that is why there were so many naughty horses there - ever watched them in the paddock in this type of weather) but apart from jumping every time something moved close by, she was pretty good.

Got Champion ASH mare, Reserve Champion Paly mare, 1st Best Paly coat colour and 2nd Best Paly mane & tail.

Well Keralyn & I decided to take father an son to this show.

Andaman & Redline Shooting Star made there debut for the 2009 showing season.

We where very proud of RSS for making top 5 in SOS. Although I must say it is very dissappointing to hear fellow competitors/spectators talking about him in a derogatory manner, I'm not quite sure why any one would of commented at all yesterday considering he behaved like a gentleman all day long (having read this thread, he clealy behaved better than a lot of gelding's and mares).

And besides two stallions, travelled together, tied up together ("unsocialised rogue stallion" - I don't think so).

I believe people should be very VERY careful about what they say about other peoples horses and if nothing posotive, dont say anything at all.

    Very well said Twiggles!

Im going to have my 2 cents worth. Usually the gossipers are jelous, uneducated novice horse people who really dont know what they are talking about - usually all their facts are totally incorrect and more than not very 2nd or 3rd hand gossip.

I think if anyone needs to start to look at safety at these shows - these young inexperienced kids and adults who get themselves totally impractical horses way out of their league who cause havock and chaos to everyone around them at shows.

From my own experience in showing my own colts/stallions - its usually not the stallion owner/handler who is the problem it is all the blazeh people who wander around with their heads in the clouds at horse shows.

Well said Scorpio. I didn't see either of Keralyn's boys step out of line and absolutely adore RSS (he can so come home on my float any time). The SOS was a massive line up and RSS stood like a gentleman and worked out brilliantly.

People need to be a little bit careful what they say by the sounds of things but it happens all the time. Twiggles, I wouldn't be too worried about anything that was said, probably a lot of jealousy behind those words.

Fully agree!! One incident at one show should NOT give the horse a bad name at every other show he attends. RSS looked (and behaved) like a million bucks yesterday :)

I have to agree with Twiggles 100%.
I think people should be very careful making comments about any horse if it is not their own. Also remember that not all breeds require stallions to be shown in bits, many breeds require only halters. (QH, Arabs for example)
Taking any horse to a show is a risky task, and no one - no matter how quiet your animal is, can guarentee how that animal is going to react in any given situation.

Magic... sorry hon, we ended up going out for dinner last night and I never turned the computer on.
BEB... it was hilarious chatting to you lovely ladies yesterday... it felt just like primary school, sitting on the grass eating our lunch! lol.

It did seem that there were a few upset horses there during the day but at the same time there were a lot of well behaved ones as well.

I was really impressed with how the show was run, to have so many rings, judges, stewards etc all happening at the same time, it all seemed to run pretty smoothly to me.

I would also like to thank everyone who helped with the situation with Caris. It was a scary time and I was really impressed with how everyone worked together. The photographer who is also a nurse was fantatic and people organised shade quickly which was awesome as well.
