you have a 20 second window so from 6mins - 6mins20 you are not penalised. each second you go over/under is 0.4 penalties

Moonlight - if you go over the optimum time you will get 0.4 of a penalty for every second over. For grades up to Pre-Novice you will also get 0.4 of a penalty for being more than 20 seconds under the optimum time.

For example: if you have a optimum time set at 5 minutes 20 seconds and are riding up to Pre-Novice level, you must finish the course between 5 minutes and 5 minutes and 20 seconds to get no time penalties. Finishing outside this time period (ie. 4mins59sec or less or 5min 21 sec or more) you will recieve 0.4 of a penalty a second for every second "out" you are.

Finishing the course in more than double the optimum time will entail elimination.
