I have been looking for other ideas on how to dry a mares milk up.

I use dried peppermint leaves, it works pretty good but would love to hear what people have used or how they have done it, what works & what doesn't for your mares?

    Thanks **)

    I don't use anything?
Mare is left to move about (don't confine!) which will encourage it to dry up quicker.

Ah.. I just take the foal away!
Like Remaani we dont lock the mare up.
Encouraging movement (even if its fence walking!) helps prevent mastitis ;)

I don't lock them up, was going to turn them out to a HUGE paddock for a month or so. But reason for me asking is 1 of my mares is going to a new home so wanted to give her a helping hand before she goes ;)
