Clipping for Royal ?

    I will be competing at Perth Royal Show 2008 and just wondering when other competitors will decide to clip there horses?
    Whats the recommended time ,so the horses dont get that just clipped colour?

    they say 6 to 8 weeks to get a decent colour back after clipping

    We got Bethy to clip for us yesterday... But it was Biks first clip and he's a pally so we played it safe to see what his coats gunna do :D

    this is a question i am currently pondering..... my girl was done only a month or so ago and her legs are hairy already!! Didnt want to do her again but dont have a choice i dont think....

    make sure your horse has started malting before you clip it for the royal. We usually clip august :) always had a nice coat come royal....or you could brush it out? I did that once....Never again! :D

    I also tried last year brushing it out, damn hard work!!!

    I have decided to clip this year at the start of August.....

    I do our's four weeks before the show. Or if it's a grey you could do it just before the show.

    PaintedHoney if yours legs are you can just re-clip them, most people clip their horses legs a week before a show and you wouldn't even know.

    I will be doing Chloe again about August...

    Not sure about Zayn yet..

    Sunnis just been clipped again we clipped him 4 weeks ago :(
