OK dramas!!! I can't ANYWHERE get clear hoof paint.

So my question is can i use clear varnish (yes stuff from Bunnings?)

Also is it better to use a brillo pad or sandpaper to rub back the hooves?

I use sandpaper but steelo soap pads work ok as well.

Try going to byford instead and checking out Saddles Plus and stampede saddlery

ahh never thought of there!!! I only have Wednesday off work, and my baby was in a corker of a mood , so the thought of driving anywhere more than 25mins away is bad :D

Then having to be home by 2.45pm to pick older kid up from school ahhhh

Yes as usual - left everything to last moment - the show is on Sunday.:p

    Teddie ,do you have halters?
I have them to if you need them. However, only have one lead if its the leather as I've lent that to someone else.
I have the traditional welsh ones if you need them.
I just need them back before the 17th.
If you need anything else ,my niece works at a saddlery store and I can ask her to bring something home with her.

Yes it just refines what a farrier does with a rasp - removes dirt in surface cracks but don't over do it as you don't want to loose too much of the hoofs ntural enamel eg. Just for shows
