My beautiful mini pony mare has just been diagnosed by a vet :(
She was dropping weight about 6 months ago so we got the vet out to do her teeth. They were filed etc and she still didn't put on much weight. I wasn't to fussed as she's not overly thin and being a mini I watch her carefully anyway. But the last fortnight she's been very lethargic so got the vet out again. After a few tests over the last week I just got the call :( the vet said for now it can be managed with a low protein diet of several small meals a day.
She currently on ad lib meadow hay and very short pasture.

Can anyone offer some advice on a good place to start with her diet?
Also the hay? Is meadow ok or would oaten be better?
Would two meals be enough? I can managed more some days but not others if I'm working

Thanks in advance bit stressed :( she's 11yrs old and I've had her since she was 2yrs, I'd be lost without her!
